Alaska Forum on the Environment 2022

The Alaska Forum is committed to hosting a safe, informative and inspiring Alaska Forum on the Environment (AFE) conference in 2022 packed with world renown keynotes, engaging technical sessions and cutting-edge environmental trainings.

As long as Covid-19 case counts and hospital capacity in the state allows for hosting a major event, we anticipate offering a hybrid event which will include both an in-person and virtual component February 7-11, 2022, allowing all attendees to attend what best fits their comfort level. All the things you love about AFE will remain: motivating keynotes, informative and engaging technical sessions, exhibitors, the film festival, and so much more.

The final decision about AFE 2022 will come at the end of October. Between now and then, we will be constantly monitoring the Covid-19 situation in Alaska and across the country, surveying our current audience, hosting open discussion meetings with current and past AFE attendees, the AFE Planning Committee and other stakeholders and monitoring what other large conferences in Alaska are doing.

We will be gathering input from our current virtual platform subscribers and we are interested in your input and suggestions!

We plan to make a final decision on whether or not an in-person event is possible no later than the end of October.

The Alaska Forum on the Environment 2021 continues to be offered as a virtual event through Alaska Connect, a new online training and events platform in partnership with Knik Tribe. Thanks to this partnership, technical sessions and environmental trainings will now be offered through Alaska Connect all year long.
